As a former ballet dancer with The Dallas Ballet, I have experienced many different exercise styles throughout my life. Over the past 12 years, yoga has been my passion. My yoga teaching experience includes such companies as: 24 Hour Fitness, LifeTime Fitness, Ladies of America, LA Fitness and The Mat Yoga Studio in Dallas. I am a contributor to YogaDigest for monthly articles about yoga. I am 500 hour certified and have operated classes from my home studio for 4 years. My teaching style is a fusion of my training and inspiration from all of my yoga and dance experiences. A Dallas Native, I have lived in Texas my whole life and am married with two teenage children. I worked for many years in the real estate industry as a marketing secretary and have discovered that my life was leading me, had always been leading me down another path – the path of fitness. When I quieted my mind and listened to my body, I decided that it was time to make a career change - a lifestyle change. I possess wide-ranging, active, professional training skills in health and wellness programs and have enthusiasm and commitment to achieve results. Not only physical results but mental and emotional results are my main focus to help my clients live more productive and happy lives.
Yoga is the one form of exercise to suit everyone's personal physical, mental and spiritual needs and goals. I take time to get to know my clients and help guide them into a personal practice that they can carry over into home practice. I teach postures and technical anatomy to help my clients learn their own bodies and learn to adjust where necessary showing correct positioning and posture. I also focus on teaching specific stretching techniques (probably from my dance and ballet background) to help open any tight or blocked areas. Most importantly, I teach breathing, relaxing, stress relieving practices and meditation that will carry over into my clients everyday life.
